Dr. Denise Eckman Psy.D., BCBA-D

As a psychology student at UCI in 1997 Denise Eckman began working with a young child with autism. While she was working to improve his life, he in turn changed her's forever. She found her passion was working with children to improve their lives. She continued to work closely with many children as she advanced her clinical education. A Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, a BCBA-D (Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral Level) from Penn State, and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D) from the University of Denver where she specialized in Behavior Analysis and Assessments.


While completing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Dr. Eckman gained extensive training and experience in supervising and developing programs for children with Autism utilizing the principles and methodologies of ABA, in particular Verbal Behavior. She completed her clinical internship at Pacific Clinics, Community Mental Health Agency, with a focus on psychological services including assessment for children and families with chronic mental disorders of various ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.


Dr. Eckman founded CBI with the thought that for every child to become all they can be, they have to be surrounded by those that believe whole-heartedly in them. To begin a season of new success for a child takes knowledgeable people with hope in their hearts.
